Jeffrey N. Ross – Autotropolis.com Editor

My name is Jeffrey, and I am an editor here at Autotropolis. When it comes to cars, I've literally been surrounded by them since I was a child. Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Mich., I started working on cars when I was in my early teens, which indirectly led me to my true passion, automotive journalism. Even as a teenager, while most of my friends were making money mowing lawns, I was learning the basics of automotive repair in my neighbor’s garage where I worked on, among many other vehicles, a first generation Ford Bronco – which to this day is still one of my favorite vehicles.
After high school, I decided that tinkering on cars wasn't enough, so I decided to make a living at automotive repair and became a Chrysler- and ASE-certified mechanic at various Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships. Seven years and many scars later, I shifted gears and enrolled at the University of Florida, and I went on to receive my bachelor’s degree in journalism. I still enjoy working on and tinkering around with cars, but working for Autotropolis has been a dream come true!
My current vehicle is a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee while my past vehicles include a 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity, 1977 Pontiac Trans Am (I was always a fan of “Smokey and the Bandit”), 1988 Ford Escort and, my favorite, a 1992 Jeep Comanche.
I am currently a member of the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA).
