Most Popular Leased Cars on the Road
Leasing a vehicle is just as difficult and just as emotional as buying a vehicle. Twenty-one percent of the auto consumers lease their vehicles, happily trading in ownership of a car for the short-term benefits of leasing. For some consumers, it’s a business decision. If you’re self-employed, it’s possible to write of the lease payments as a business expense. Or you could like technology but don’t want five years of payments to get into the latest thing. Still other people want to drive a luxury car but don’t have or don’t want to put out the required cash up front.
One of the biggest considerations was the fact that in recent years you could expect lease payments to be less than your financed payments if you bought the same car. That’s because the automakers, in an attempt to make leasing more attractive, offered various incentives like low-interest financing and cash back offers to consumers.
These10 cars represent consumer choice. This list includes everything from the fun loving Chevrolet Corvette to the fuel efficient Toyota Prius.

The results are in for the first half of 2008, a year plagued by high fuel costs and economic hardships. How has this affected the type of cars, auto consumers are choosing for their leases? Consumers are heading for the more fuel-efficient cars and the hybrid models.
After looking at more than two million lease requests, the results show not only an increase in fuel-efficient vehicles but that consumers are willing to look at used hybrids as the waiting list for new models can be very long. This is a definite change over last year’s preferences.
For the rest of the coming year, there will be even more changes as auto makers change the way choose to handle the car leasing side of their business. It will be a few months to see how these changes will affect the industry.
