Suzuki's History
Suzuki was founded as a company dedicated to making products better and more user-friendly. For the first several decades, the company concentrated on textile looms. The fortunes of war would change all that. After World War II Suzuki would diversify into a variety of engineered products, the most significant of which was motorcycles. By the mid-1950s Suzuki was producing thousands of motorcycles per month, and the name of the company was changed to Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd.
Suzuki would go on to be a world leader in motor vehicle production and in 1985 introduced the U.S. to the Suzuki Samurai, a small sport utility vehicle with a then-quirky design and a reputation for being tough and reliable. Suzuki now has several models on the U.S. market, including two sport utility vehicles.
