Lamborghini Certified Used Vehicle Program

Lamborghini is the latest automaker to start up a certified used vehicle program. This program is so brand new that there aren’t any certified used Lamborghini’s on the market yet – or if there are, the numbers are very small. Some of the dealers started rolling out the program in the fourth quarter of 2008.

As some of these newly certified vehicles become available, it’s easy to see why this is a good idea. This program will allow Lamborghini to control the quality of used vehicles being sold under the Lamborghini name.

With their own certified pre-owned program, Lamborghini guarantees that these vehicles will meet the high standards of the company. For many consumers, the certified vehicle program is an opportunity to purchase a long sought after vehicle at a more reasonable price.

Lamborghini Models that qualify

Not every used Lamborghini vehicle will be able to qualify for the certified pre-owned program. Only the Murcielago and Gallardo models will be accepted.

Lamborghini Murcielago – only the model years 2002 and younger will be accepted into the program. The vehicle, if it passes the other tests, can have one or more owners up to this point and the vehicle could be traded in or consigned.

Lamborghini Gallardo – only the models years of 2004 or younger will be accepted. Also allowed are all vehicles if one owner or pre-owned vehicles that have been traded in or taken on consignment.

Besides being one of the two above-mentioned models in the stated years, the vehicles can’t have more than 22,000 miles on the odometer. The vehicles can be no more than 6 years old from the warranty activation time.

• As well, the vehicles must be in their last 12 months of standard warranty or in the last 12 months of the certified pre-owned program.
• The vehicle must have a properly document maintenance history
• The vehicle must have only original Lamborghini equipment only
• The vehicle must have a clean CARFAX vehicle history report

CARFAX Vehicle History Report

The vehicle history report can offer information on:

• Title information, which can show salvaged or junked titles
• If the vehicle has been in a flood
• If the vehicle was written off as a total loss in an accident
• Odometer readings
• Lemon history
• State emissions inspection results - if tested
• How many previous owners had the vehicle
• Service records – lets you know if the vehicle has been well maintained
• Lien activity – if any

Every vehicle entered into the program is tested, repair, refurbished and restored to Lamborghini’s highest standards. These are vehicle to enjoy for a lifetime.

Warranty Coverage

Lamborghini has put together a certified pre-owned warranty coverage that includes a roadside Assistance service. Coverage is for 1 or 2 years with unlimited mileage and eligibility starts when the Lamborghini is in the last 12 months of its warranty period. All maintenance with a certified pre-owned vehicle is well documented. If any repairs are made, only Lamborghini parts are used.

Covered under the warranty are the following:

• Powertrain - the engine, transmission, and differential
• The suspension and steering system
• All safety features - ABS, airbag, and brake system
• The heating and air conditioning system
• Electrical – not including sound system and navigation equipment
• Fuel System

What’s not covered are basic wear an maintenance items like tires, clutch, brake pads, bulbs, damage from misuse, maintenance and problems from not performing maintenance as well as environmental damage like hail and acid rain.
