2009 Toyota Yaris
0.0% Interest or $500 Cash Back

It’s not always easy to find a fun to drive vehicle in the entry-level price range, but the 2009 Toyota Yaris fills the bill nicely. Designed to both save on fuel and put a smile on the face of owners during their daily commute, the Yaris is neither fast not flashy but still manages to offer good handling and adequate power. Available as a two-door or four-door hatchback or a four-door sedan, the base Yaris comes with air conditioning and power steering, but little else. Moving up through the different trim levels adds a radio, nicer seat covers and the option of exterior upgrades to give the vehicle a sportier appearance.

Underneath the hood, all versions of the 2009 Toyota Yaris share the same 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine. Good for 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque, the motor is fairly responsive, especially when mated with the 5-speed manual transmission which is available in both the sedan and the two-door hatch. The four-door hatch comes exclusively with a 4-speed automatic, which is optional for the other two body styles. Fuel economy for the Yaris comes in at a healthy 29 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon during highway cruising.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest or $500.00 cash back on the 2009 Toyota Yaris effective until 07/06/2009.

2009 Ford Focus
0.0% Interest or $2,500 Cash Back

The 2009 Ford Focus is the domestic car company’s take on the compact car market. Fresh for 2009 is a coupe edition of the Focus, which joins the sedan and provides a slightly sportier option for younger first-time car buyers. The vehicle’s lines transfer well to the sleeker two-door body work and helps to give the car less gangly proportions. Interior room is good, especially for front seat occupants, and the entry-level Focus S is provided with a smattering of standard equipment: an MP3-capable CD player, air conditioning highlight the list. Buyers can add goodies such as heated mirrors and seats, power door locks and windows, the Microsoft SYNC entertainment and communications system, and a power sunroof should they so desire.

The 2009 Ford Focus coupe and sedan both make use of a 140 horsepower, 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine. Also capable of producing 136 lb-ft of torque, the Focus finds itself capable of easily merging and keeping up with highway traffic, displaying a confidence not always found in its segment. The front-wheel drive Focus returns fuel mileage numbers of 24 miles per gallon in stop and go traffic and 35 miles per gallon on the highway, and it can be ordered with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest or $2,500.00 cash back on the 2009 Ford Focus effective until 08/03/2009.

2009 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab
$1,000 Cash Back

Continuing the trend of compact pickups growing into mid-size approximations of their full-size brothers, the 2009 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab (regular cab pictured) bears a strong resemblance to the Chevrolet Silverado. The four-door Crew Cab configuration provides the most interior room of any of the Colorado pickups, enabling four adults – five in a pinch – to comfortably travel long distances without too much complaint. In addition to its expanded cabin dimensions, the Crew Cab can also be equipped with a Z71 off-road suspension package that helps the Colorado deal with rough terrain thanks to extra ground clearance and stiffer shocks and springs.

Rear-wheel drive editions of the 2009 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab see a 2.9 liter, 4-cylinder engine installed between the front fenders that generates 185 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.7 liter 5-cylinder becomes standard when buyers opt for four-wheel drive on their Crew Cab, and it is good for 242 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for this engine shows as 16 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway, 2 miles per gallon lower for each measure when compared to the 4-cylinder. A 300 horsepower, 5.3 liter V8 rules the roost in the top-level Colorado for buyers who crave performance. The Crew Cab comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

There is an incentive of $1,00.00 cash back on the 2009 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab effective until 07/06/2009.

2009 Dodge Nitro
$2,750 Cash Back

The 2009 Dodge Nitro is a unique sport-utility crossover vehicle that aims itself squarely at sedan buyers. Intended to offer greater capabilities than a regular car for just a bit more money, the Nitro’s appearance is dominated by rugged fender flares, a tall roofline and the suggestion of power. The Nitro’s interior makes the most of its available room, and a commanding view of the road gives it the illusion of feeling much larger than it really is from behind the wheel. Unusual in its class, the Nitro provides a Load ‘n Go seating feature that allows rear passenger accommodations to quickly fold flat into the floor, coupled with a sliding rear cargo tray that makes filling the crossover with gear that much easier.

The 2009 Dodge Nitro lives up to its name when it comes to available power. Its standard engine is a 3.7 liter V6 that grinds out 260 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, while buyers can choose to step up to a 4.0 liter V6 in the Nitro R/T that offers the same power but with a more performance-oriented powerband. Each engine’s fuel economy is in the neighborhood of 16 miles per gallon in city driving and 21 miles per gallon on the highway, and both can be matched with four-wheel drive. The smaller V6 comes with a 4-speed automatic while the larger unit is outfitted with a 5-speed auto.

There is an incentive of $2,750.00 cash back on the 2009 Dodge Nitro effective until 07/30/2009.

2009 Pontiac G6
0.0% Interest or $1,250 Cash Back

Refreshed for what will most likely be its final year in production, the 2009 Pontiac G6 has a solid value proposition to make for buyers interested in an inexpensive midsize vehicle. A versatile platform, the G6 is sold as either a coupe, sedan or hardtop convertible. There are a number of different equipment packages and trim levels available for the G6 that range from economy-oriented to sporty and stylish. When going all-out, it is possible to order the G6 so that it comes with StabiliTrak electronic stability control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats and interior trim, hood scoops, a rear spoiler and of course OnStar.

The 2009 Pontiac G6 starts out with a 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder engine that provides 164 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque, along with fuel economy rated at 22 miles per gallon around town and 30 miles per gallon during highway cruising. The GT option installs a 3.5 liter V6 in the sedan and coupe that significantly increases power to 219 ponies and 219 lb-ft of torque. The real barn-burner, however, is the GXP edition of the G6, which uses a 3.6 liter V6 capable of producing 252 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque in both the coupe and the sedan. Fuel mileage decreases slightly with each of these larger engine options. The convertible is only available in GT trim and uses a 222 horsepower version of the 3.5 liter V6. A 4-speed automatic is fitted to all G6’s except the GXP which makes use of a 6-speed auto.

There is a financing incentive of 0.0% interest or $1,250.00 cash back on the 2009 Pontiac G6 effective until 07/06/2009.

Top 10 Vehicles for Tailgating this Summer
By : Benjamin Hunting
Date : 06/08/2009

Spring has sprung and there is new grass on the field. As we head into the summer sports season, the smell of charcoal fills the air and burgers and brats can be heard sizzling in stadium parking lots across the country. Tailgating is a favored tradition passed down from generation to generation, and a large part of a successful pre-game BBQ is choosing the right vehicle to complement your festivities. While the family sedan is a great choice for getting to and from the game, it doesn’t exactly measure up when it is time to get the party started. This list looks at 10 of the best vehicles on the market for would-be tailgaters, and talks about the special features or two that helps each of them stand out from the pack.

2009 Honda Ridgeline - The 2009 Honda Ridgeline might not be the most rugged mid-size pickup truck on the market, but it does have something few other trucks can boast – a trunk. This feature lends itself to a number of different tailgating uses. It can be filled up with a big cooler, a bag full of food and even a sack of charcoal with room left over, then closed and covered with the BBQ and lawn chairs for easy transportation to the parking lot. Once at the game the trunk can even be lined with a sheet of plastic, filled with ice and turned into an impromptu open-air cooler.

The bed of the truck itself is large enough to hold a few chairs should the ground be a bit too muddy for relaxed lounging, and at the end of the day the truck can transport up to 5 adults back home.

2009 Dodge Nitro - You may start to notice a Dodge-oriented trend on this list, and that’s largely because it almost seems as though the engineers over at the Pentastar spend as much time tailgating as they do penning new car designs. The 2009 Dodge Nitro’s main claim to pre-game party fame is something called Load ‘n Go. This unique feature is at its core a sliding cargo floor that can be pulled up to 18 inches out of the rear of the Nitro. This lets it serve as either a perch for diners or even a table upon which food and drink can be piled. Don’t worry about any plus-sized buddies damaging the vehicle – the Load ‘n Go floor can handle up to 400 lbs of weight, which should be enough to handle even the heftiest sports fan. The Nitro also features a number of electrical outlets so you can fire up the microwave if it’s too wet for the BBQ to get started.

2009 Honda Element - The 2009 Honda Element isn’t as large as some of the other vehicles on this list, but it does provide one of the bare minimum requirements for tailgating – an actual tailgate. Like the Nitro, this smaller vehicle can take up to 400 lbs of party gear piled up on top of its rear cargo gate before there are any problems. It also features rear seats which can recline almost totally flat – perfect for recovering from sunstroke or perhaps too much enthusiasm during post-game celebrations. Think of the Element as the jab in Honda’s one-two tailgating punch.

2009 Chevrolet Avalanche - If you need to haul a tent to your tailgating party, then the 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche is the vehicle to call on. A removable midgate greatly extends the SUV’s cargo area, allowing objects just over 8 feet in length to be transported safely and easily. This means tents and tent poles are no problem, along with however many coolers you need to bring with you. With the ability to transport 6 passengers, the Avalanche is also a great option as a people mover with a still-decent 5.3 foot cargo bed. If things get a little too crazy – or muddy – in the parking lot, the bed can also be easily hosed out.

2009 Lincoln Navigator - The 2009 Lincoln Navigator might seem a bit too upscale for hardcore tailgating, but it provides a few important features that can make or break a party. The first is cavernous cargo space – a ton of gear can be stashed inside this full-size SUV, along with up to 7 passengers. However, the Navigator’s saving grace is its power liftgate, which can provide shelter from any encroaching storms for quite a large number of people. Even those measuring over 6 feet will be able to crowd underneath the liftgate without having to duck, and since it goes up and down at the touch of a button, it doesn’t over-complicate your party fun.

2009 Dodge Caliber - Dodge offers another winner with the 2009 Caliber. This crossover SUV isn’t particularly large or spacious, but it does offer one feature that no other vehicle on this list does – tunes. With a set of speakers that can fold down from the top of the vehicle’s liftgate, the Caliber is a rolling boom box, and this helps it to keep your party bumping long after everyone else in the parking lot has packed it in and gone home for the night.

2009 Chevrolet Suburban - The 2009 Chevrolet Suburban gets a mention here in recognition of its outstanding historical contribution to the field of tailgating. Long before many of the other cars and trucks mentioned here even existed, the Suburban was going above and beyond the call of duty thanks to its 9 passenger seating, huge cargo area and rugged construction that let it venture out of parking lots in search of shady trees and grassy knolls upon which to picnic. The latest Suburban is just as capable now as it was back then and is still a strong contender in the tailgating sweepstakes.

2009 Dodge Ram - The final vehicle from Dodge on this list, the Ram comes through thanks to all of the utility that a pickup truck has to offer, including enough cargo space to haul 5 or more BBQ’s down to the local race track or football field parking lot. What sets the Ram apart from other pickup trucks is the optional Rambox storage system, which makes use of hollowed-out portions of the rear fenders which can serve as high capacity portable coolers. In fact, it is possible to stuff them full of as many as 36 cans of beverage in each side plus all of the requisite ice without causing a mess or getting the inside of the truck dirty. Think of it as the largest and most expensive cooler you will ever own.

2009 Ford Flex - The last vehicle on this list is a crossover that offers fold-flat rear seats, making it the perfect choice for anyone who might have partied a little bit too hard and needs to camp out overnight in the back before driving home responsibly the next morning. The 2009 Ford Flex is more than just a rolling hotel, however – it also offers a refrigerated rear console that can handle just over a 6 pack of drinks at a time. Not only that, but it can even be dialed down into ‘freeze’ mode – can you say ice cubes on the go? The first production vehicle to offer an ice maker since the Toyota Van in the 1980’s, the Ford Flex is a true tailgating pioneer. Not only that, but it also stands out style-wise from the rest of the trucks and SUV’s that typically fill parking lots.
