2009 Scion xB Release Series 6.0 Date : 09/30/2009
The sixth incarnation of Scion's factory-prepped xB under the Release Series banner, the xB Release Series 6.0 is the latest work on the youth-oriented auto brand's tuner theme. With 2,500 examples of the 2009 Scion xB Release Series 6.0 destined to be sold, owners get the reward of a rare custom tuning job without the time and cash-consuming steps associated with adding the accessories yourself. Unlike the case of other automotive rarities, the Scion Release Series is affordably priced and placed under the rights of first come, first served. In the case of the 2009 Scion xB Release Series 6.0, pricing was just $1,743 more than a base edition of the xB in either the manual or automatic transmission.
Scion xB Release Series 6.0 Exterior Enhancements
Painted in a dazzling color choice called Absolutely Red, the xB Release Series 6.0 offers a vibrant change over the primarily black Scion tC coupe created on a similar Release Series theme. Choosing not to add trick suspension or body kits, this special edition of the Scion xB offers minimum physical changes to the box-like stature. Noted Release Series appearance improvements include a blacked-out mesh grille on the front and an optional color-matching rear spoiler.
While the bodywork lends itself to a subtle modesty, more dedicated import tuners may not completely agree with the wheel and tire choice selected by Scion. Wearing special 16 inch Release Series wheel covers, they are suitable for everyday driving but lacks the poise of the stylish TRD alloy wheels worn by previous Scion Release Series cars. To overcome the Scion xB Release Series 6.0's less than enthusiastic footing, an upgrade to TRD 19 inch wheels can be specially ordered through Scion dealerships.
Looking like a show car, the Scion xB Release Series 6.0's ride is excellent for everyday driving with four-wheel disc brakes supported by ABS (anti-lock braking system) and Toyota's electronic stability control technology.
Scion xB Release Series 6.0 Interior Enhancements
Using the Scion xB's 100.3 cubic feet of passenger room as a stage, interior design for the xB Release Series 6.0 is home to a sensationally sporty looking cabin. Once entering the Scion xB Release Series 6.0, the opened doors trigger lighting installed along the door sills. Additional four-in-one color interior lighting builds ambiance inside during the nighttime cruises or acts as a refreshing companion to the late trip home from work. Black seating features a pattern heavily peppered with the eye-catching red used on the exterior. Though discretely displayed behind the steering wheel, Scion marks this limited edition xB with a holographic plaque which individually identifies itself among the 2,500 copies.
Highlighting the Scion xB Release Series 6.0 interior, expect to be astonished by electronic accompaniments that draw the tech savvy Generation Y crowd. Sourced from Pioneer for this specific Release Series, the Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) unit is a fully function multimedia system offering HD and satellite, Bluetooth connectivity, DVD playback as well as MSN Direct. Subscription-based MSN Direct provides traffic tips, weather, gas prices and even stock reports can be sent to the Scion's AVN system. The system can be operated either through the 5.8 inch touchscreen or with the use of voice commands. Power windows, doors, and mirrors are all included on the Scion xB Release Series 6.0 for additional control at the touch of a button.
Adding some practicality to an interior designed for pure driving fun, the Scion xB Release Series 6.0 offers a rear cargo cover that shields possessions from outside view. Along with the attention given to protecting goods, added protection to passengers is built into the special edition Scion xB with a full array of frontal, side-impact, and curtain air bags are standard equipment.
