Though the current form of the Chevrolet Impala resembles nothing from its past, the front-wheel drive sedan has proven to be quite successful for Chevy. The Impala name was used extensively on big Chevrolets from 1958 up to 1985 before being revived in 1994 as the limited-production, monochromatic Impala SS. Of its three engine options, including a 303-horsepower V-8, Chevrolet offers two with Active Fuel Management to help improved fuel economy by deactivating cylinders. The Chevrolet Impala comes with a five-year/100,000-mile powertrain and gets an estimated 20-29 mpg on the highway.
