How do I replace the starter on my 96' Laredo V8

I just bought this Grand Cherokee and I would like to replace it's "rebuilt" starter, which I feel is going to give me problems. I would really like to replace it my self, if it isnt too complicated and nip it in the bud. Can anyone explain how to complete this task. Thank you in advance. - Lee R.

Here's the deal....The ignition piece where the key goes was replaced....cool....Well it messed up again and took it out...Then I realized that there's a little circular thing inside there that rotates *assuming from when the key turns it's how it knows if it's running, off, etc....Well I tried to turn it cuz it seemed like it was in the wrong position...Now this little thing either rotates all the way around or won't get in the position I need it to so the key lines up correctly when I have it in....

The key when in, won't spring back after I turn it to start it up....It's like it won't line up right...

Also, there's a little black button type of thing almost above the ignition that I have to press in to release my key, think that might be a little stuck as well, not too sure....

Any help would be great...and sorry if my description sucks, ask questions if you need to and I will tell you more...Thanks again

97 dodge caravan starting problems.

I have a 97 Dodge Caravan , 3.3 litre engine, 98,000 miles. I recently had repairs done like- front brakes, thermostat, serpentine belt, and had my coolant system checked, because of leaking. All that seems fine now. And as they say, here we go again! now my van will not start, As I was leaving the shop after getting a new thermostat put on, I noticed the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light come on, I asked the mechanic and he plugged a handheld reader into it but it told him everything was working fine, at least thats what he informed me. since then I drove for a few days to work but noticed it was getting harder and harder to start the van. The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light was constantly on. Yesterday, I went out to go to work and it would not start it would turn over and lights were still coming on fine , but simply wouldn't start. Please tell me what I can do or what it may be? These past few weeks it has been back and fourth to shop so many times they know me by first name now! I am no mechanic, so please if possible tell me in laymans terms .

1994 Town Car 4.6 eng. Fuel Delivery

1994 Town Car,(eng.4.6) sometime it starts,and sometimes not, went to fuel rail to test depress valve core, no gas, removed valve core and retried plenty of gas this time, replaced fuel pump,replaced fuel filter, replaced fuel regulater, checked for spark each time and was good, just sometime it works great and other times no fuel delivery, is the I.C.M. in any way connected to the fuel system , by the way all the grounding has been cleaned up also. This one has a mind of its own.

engine trying to overheat

I have 1989 Shelby Dakota. I have just finished rebuilding the engine and have about 4 hours run time on it.

Problem: pushing coolant out in to overflow resievor causing the engine to try to run hot, This happens at 2000 to 3000 rpms in 2 to 3 miles on the hwy. Faster as the rpms go up. With the cap off you can watch the coolant flow from fast to slow as the thermastat opens and closes, no bubbles or coolant run over at idle.

Any ideas for med???

I have a 93 continental that I am haveing a CO code in my fuel gage. I've called all the local dealers and they do not know the reason why this is happening. I replaced the fuel pump assembly, and the circut board for the gauge itself. It still comes on, sometimes for days. Does not matter how much fuel I put in. Can anyone help with this. Thanks....Cory

Hello

My Brother has a 94 ford Escort that had a coule of Burnt valves he pulled the Head and Ground the Valves and Seats and replaced the Head Gasket. Now he needs to reset the Timing he said that there was an "E" on one Cam and a "1" on the other Cam and that there was a mark on the ind of the crankshaft. He needs to know where these marks are supposed to be in order to get the Timing set. Can anyone Help???

I have A 1990 Ford F-150 and it dies(totally shuts off) as I am driving down the road This happens about 3-5 times in a 10 minute trip. When it dies I have to pull off the road , put it in park, and restart it. this is verry dangeerous! I almost get hit every day. this truck is my only means of transportation. PLEASE HELP!

2001 Audi TT Quatro emergency flashers

The four way flashers come on by themselves and causes the battery to go dead. Dealership cannot find the problem any one else have this problem ?
