When I change the air flow control on my 1997 pontiac grand prix it doesn't do anything just blows out of all the vents. Even if I put it to blow on the windshield it still blows out of all the vents especially on the floor. Any ideas what causing this?

When I turn on the heat / air conditioning the air flows out of all the vents no matter what setting I have it set on. If I have it on the windshield or the vents it still blows out of all of them. It blows the most on the floors. It doesn't do anything when I change it. Any idea what it would be?
