sounds like the caliper is sticking. This will cause damage to the rotor. most likely have to replace caliper, rotor, and pads.

Survey ok. Curious about why filters and not oil brand too. I believe oil brand plays more of a role in engine longevity than the filter itself, along with correct routine oil change maintenance. However a bad filter is like using sand paper as toilet paper. Ha Ha (not a good idea)
