Used to own a Pontiac van that had a power drain over night. Seems that if I had used alot of accessories and didn't turn them of before turning the key off, that something was staying on. It was the radio and heater fan. Somehow the extra power use had locked a relay or something on. Turned things off after that and had no more problems.

If khooper is right, then you still have to find where the coolant went to create that cavitation!!!

Under the laws of thermodynamics, the chain should be making more noise after the engine warms up as the metal expands with heat. It should be tighter when the engine is cool. An aluminum cylinder head can expand and shrink up to 1/8 of an inch during manufacture. Iron skrinks alot less. That is one reason you can have problems with head gaskets ...

I usually go for dropping the tank for the following simple but logical reason:
After 12 years of cleaning out the gas staions underground tank, it is time to clean out yours!!!
Hint of the day: If the tanker is dumping in the station's tanks, go somewhere else to get your fuel or wait till the next day to get it there.

Plugged catalytic converters will cause a drastic reduction in fuel mileage and power. They can also come apart and plug the mufflers. Should be replaced at 100,000 miles.

Labor rates are high at Dealers and Garages. You can purchase a repair manual for about $ 20 and the EGR for about $ 140 at your local AutoZone, Advance or Oriely"s. All you need then is a Metric socket set

If the engine cranked over slowly and would not fire until you jumped it, then you have a charging system problem. The reason for this is as follows: The ignition requires 12 volts to operate the computer and fire the ignition. The starter can ...

It appears you have some kind of air flow problem through the radiator. Possibly due to the rotation of the fan/water pump. Do check all this out!!!
Does your 81 use serpintine belts. Did you notice whether the 81 belt system was IDENTICAL to the 77. When you replaced the water pump, did you happen to notice if the part #'s ...
