    2007 x5 goes into park when door is open

    I can't back up with the drivers door open. As soon as I take my foot off the brake it goes into Park. I like to get the back tire on an exact spot on the garage floor at times and I can't do this without opening the door and getting the tire positioned. Is there a way around this feature??

    Thanks for any help.

    It's possible the dealer can go into the software and lock this feature out, but that would be your only option-

    Isn't it amazing what the manufacturers consider as safety requirements these days?
