I have a 1994 xj6 jaguar that runs fine. starter works well but does not disengage once the car has started. i have replaced the starter once, and i have rplaced the ignitionn switch. i havw had this problem for a month. i am a back yard mechanic so i dont want to put money into it by taking it to a mechnic when the problem may be simple and i can repair it my self. ifyou know the answer please let me know . . . thanks stan

it sounds like either the solenoid is staying engaged on the starter or maybe the starter is not properly shimmed. A bent flywheel can also make it seem like the starter is staying engaged/
