    Yesterday I noticed that my 2007 Saturn Ion started making this really odd humming noise (very loud) when I accelerate.  If I am below 1000rpms, I do not hear it but once I accelerate it is constant.  It has 71K miles and I had a quart of oil put in b/c it was low.  There are no engine lights on and it has not been in any accident.  It seems to be coming from the driver's side.  Any ideas??

    Turbo tubes that have a leak, hole in Air cooler or even intake gaskets can cause unusual humming noises when RPM's increase.  If you dont have a turbo, I wouldnt know.
