Ok, I had a 1994 Ranger that started that and all the mechanics just wanted to charge me 80 dollars to put it on the diagnostic machine and then tell me that , "hey, if it's not doing that when we check it, we can't diagnose the problem, (sucker)"
Anyhow, after TWO YEARS of HATING the ford motor company, I simply changed a relay switch which I had overlooked in a plastic box under the hood . I had thought the problem might be a fuel pump... it turned out to be a 20 dollar relay that says' Fuel pump relay " on the top of it. Fixed the problem that all these over- trained, under- thinking ,over- paid ,unshaven ,smelly, hotdog swilling , Jerry Spring watching... welll, you get my drift. I had to fix it my self.
try that , get a good nights sleep and prepare for the many other beautifully mysterious break downs that the ford ranger has in store for you!( p. s, I"d Really like to know if this helps you with your problem.
