    squealing ranger

My 2000 ford ranger squeals like crazy. I have put on both idler pulleys,a new power steering pump, and a new belt(cross cut to help elliminate sqeaks).

Also did the soap on the belt trick, still sqeaks.  All that is left is the AC pulley, alt. pulley and the water pump pulley. HELP!

    Thanks,John

If theres a powersteering pump leak,, even a small one,,or other oil source,,or if a pulley is slighty warped from when it was removed,,might be the problem...painters chalk will quiet noisy belts...

    Re: squealing ranger

I have been having the same problem. Started about 2 months ago in my 2000 ranger. I replaced the tension pulley, the idler pulley and the alternator yesterday, then still had the squealing sound. sprayed  belt conditioner and the sound comes and goes at this point, hoping that it will GO. My advice after having two Rangers is, save some cash up, and buy a Toyota. Seriously though, maybe that 4 dollar can of belt dressing will do the trick.
