The cam belt on my TT blew after only 64,000 mi and caused some damage. I thought they could machine the head and replace the broken valve but the mechanic said the head would have to be replaced and all valves would have to be replaced before he even looked at it. He said that Audi doesn't sell individual valves but sends a complete set with a new head. I also thought replacing various tension springs, the timing belt, the other cam belt and the water pump would be a good idea, especially since everything was apart and the only cost should be a small amt for replacement and the cost of the parts. Is this mechanic being straight with me. Does any of this make any sence?
