Security lite goes on

I have a "security" lite in my dash that goes on periodically. The manual states this has something to do with automatic security door locks, or something to that effect. A feature I do not have. It has come on here and there for the past year, doesn't effect anything. Should I assume it is just a dummy lite and ignore it?

I drove a 2008 Silverado 4x4 today a coworker bought. And got a long thorough look at it. $18,000 . Very nice tight vehicle. Plenty of power. Great ride. I'm thinking maybe next November I could swing one. Not like the HHR I drove last winter with one door lock on 5 doors.

i have a 1991 chevy caprice .iwas driving it i was going about 15 to 30mph when my car just stooped on me /when i went to try and start it back up it started back firing so i put a new timing in it new cap new button wires it still want start it stop back firing all it do now is turn over and over it got new spark plugs and all of them are firing i cant fine out what is wrong with it if someone can hello me with it please do help i need my car to get to work thank you

Heres the situation,, he loaned his truck out got his truck back,, the water pump was bad he asked me to fix it,, done, he told me it would not start so I put new plugs,, new cap new roatar,, used the same coil pack in the cap top,, it has no fire,, it will crank over but i don't think its getting any fire,, any ideas coil bad?? thanks in advance for any help. edited------------i took the coil and had it tested,, i took the control module and had it tested too,, both good,,

2004 Cavalier Power Window Motor Change

Can someone please help???? Need to change my window motor on the drivers side. I believe they are initially pop riveted in place and to get to the hidden rivets you need to drill some additional holes. Is this right or wrong. Also, is there any way of gauging where to drill the holes if necessary?

Monte Carlo 96 Trouble

For some reason when I was pulling into my buiding today my car started acting weird. It will only turn right for some reason and Im looking for ideas? Im thinking power stearing or my drivers side stabalizer bar? Anyone have any recomendations?

Has plenty of fluid, no power stearing leak. No lights came on. Nothing. No warning what so ever.

1993 Chevrolet Corsica Starting Problem

Recently, my 1993 Chevrolet Corsica shut down while at the light. After several tries, I managed to get it started long enough to get to a parking lot. The motor will turn over, but will not start. I did rule out the fuel pump as a potential problem by checking the flow of gas to the fuel injector.

Can anyone give me some sound advice on where to start with this problem. I also was told that it could be a sensor or fuse problem. If so, where are these gadgets located? Please help!!!

91 corsica which only 4 of 6 cylinders fired. Changed out 2 of 3 ignition coils, now runs fine. Car dies when you put it in drive and give it gas, like the trans is locked up. Can get it running by giving it gas, more than what is needed, while in park and shift it into drive. After doing this 2 or 3 times the car runs fine with no problems. Is there a senor I'm missing to check?

Is it true, that if your brake shoe has a leak & the brake shoe becomes saturated with brake fluid that it is no longer usable?

Do I have to replace the brake shoe even if it isn't that old or worn? Thanks!! : )

1997 chevy cavalier fuel filter replacement

How do you replace the metal retainer that slips onto one end of the fuel filter? The inside of the retaining sleeve is cracked but not leaking. It is a metal sleeve with a 90 degree bend which is attached to a rubber fueil line which goes upto fhe fuel pump assy in the fuel tank. Is there any way I can replace the metal sleeve without replacing the entire fuel pump assy. The other side of the fuel filter has a simple threaded fitting. I do not want to spend $700 for the fuel pump assy just to replace a $20 fuel filter. I have been told that because the system is pressurized you cannot replace sleeve by itself. The sleeve is press fittted to the rubber fuel line and is a one piece assembly. What can I do they would allow me to replace the filter and the slip on retainer?

I have a 93 Bereta and a 94 Cavalier Z24. The block in the Cavalier is blown because the guy i bought it from didnt keep oil in it. I only pain 400 for it. But I wrecked the Beretta. I've never worked on a FF car before. So I'm cdompletely clueless as to how to go about swapping the engines. They are both the same size. Can anybody give me some instructions on how to go about doing this? What is the easiest way to do it?

Chevy small block gen 1 water pump. Long or Short?

Hello all. I have a gen1 small block 350 in a old truck. I was looking into replacing the pulleys with better looking pulleys but i need to know whether i have a short or long water pump. How can i tell which one i have. What part is longer? i have a new pump on it now that worked with the old pulleys. Pump was bought for a 85 c10 truck with the 305 (origanal engine). pump # is a wp520. Just dont know if its long or short. Thanks.
