brake lights

this fall, my 2002 STS has an issue with the 3 brake lights that come on when starting up, they stay on up to 10 minutes and while on, I have no heated seats, no proper in car heating and lights. this is very intermitent and can happen at any time, and several times... any suggestions, have been to the Caddy shop and so far no luck either only $$$ for nothing

Seats were replaced by previous owner. Wanna make sure getting power to the heater from switch.

im sure everyone has heard of the overheating problem caused by a blown headgasket,i would like to know if anyone has tried Thermalgasket by RXAUTO?

cooling fan bad?

I am trying to find out if the cooling fan is bad on a 1994 seville sts. Can I just check the DC power going to the fan? Where does the fan get its voltage from, is it from a sensor, micro processor. How can I isolate and troubleshoot this problem. Is there is any free electrical diagrams I can look at to troubleshoot with? Thanks for your help.

Fuel pump noise coming inside 1995 STS

I have a buzzing noise i am convinced is the fuel pump getting progressivly louder inside. Is there nose insulation that has worn away? is there a line or something that rubbing on the body sending the noise inside?

I TOOK MY 1998 STS CADI THRU INSPECTION,IT KEEPS FAILING DUE TO THE REAR BREAKS,I HAVE HAD NEW BREAKS AND ROTORS PUT ON,I TOOK IT BACK THRU AND IT STILL FAIL FOR THE REAR BREAKS,WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE, PLS HELP TRYING TO GAT TAGS FOR MY CAR.

car died when i was driving

I was driving and then the car just died. I was stepping on the gas and i just suddenly felt the car loose power. I felt the steering wheel starting to lock up. It happened twice. the first it happened i just turned the engine off and started it back again and it worked. the second time it won't start. it cranks but won't start. it didn't overheat or anything. There was no smell. Could it be an electrical problem or maybe a fuse problem?

'98 Seville stalling after highway run

My 1998 Seville SLS stalls at stop signs/lights after running on the freeway. It seems that I can drive around town at low speeds without problems when I stop, but after a freeway run at 55+ MPH, it stalls at the stop sign at the end of the ramp. Any ideas folks? Thank You

steering wheel won't lock anymore when key is removed

I have a 1999 cadillac seville sts.

Prior to the steering wheel won't lock problem, I had replaced the outer tie-rod end ont the drivers side (front). When I completed installing a new tie-rod end, the steering wheel now won't lock into position after the key is removed.

FYI, I also disconected the (-) neg. terminal on the batterry during the tie rod end replacement.

What should I do now?

1992 cadillac deville service code 85

The "Service Engine Soon" light has been on. I had my mechanic run the code test and it showed code 85. But he doesn't have the service information regarding that code. The car seems to be running fine.

Stability and or Traction Control System failure

1997 Cadillac Seville STS - The stability warning light comes on and the system is activated when it is not required. (fast or slow driving in town or highway on dry pavement with no actual skidding) When the brake pedal is pushed, you can hear the mechanism working and the warning on the Information Center comes on giving the stability system number. This began happening at about 60,000 and I took it to the dealer for repair. They put a new computer chip in ($1,000 with labor) etc. 20,000 miles later it began happening again. I have 100,000 on the vehicle now and have just lived with the problem but I need to get it fixed. I am reluctant to take it to a Cad Dealer as I fear they will just through another chip in it when I don't think that is the problem. I am not a mechanic, but it would make sense to me that some sensor is off and causing the system to activate when it is not called for.

So ...Does any one have any ideas as to what the problem could be and how to remedy same. Also, since I probably can't fix it myself, any suggestion on what kind of an auto repair shop to take it to other than a Cad Dealer... ie Brake, Electrical or General Automotive Repair. I live in Redmond, WA and have never found a repair shop that I was comfortable with, but then I have used the Dealer for most needs other than brakes etc.

tail light led array

I have a 1994 Seville with the led array across the trunk lid. It is not working and my left signal flashes rapidly like when you have a bulb out. Someone said it is the ballast but I have been unable to find any info on the problem. If it is a ballast and I can get one I will do the repair myself. Any help would be appreciated.

2005 STS Oil filter Location

Where is the oil filter located on my 2005 STS? I have a 3.6l engine. The parts store sold me a filter that fits in a canister. Once I find it how do I remove the canister?

1999 Cadillac STS

We have the above listed car we recently acquired. It was missing the 6 disc changer cartridge. We ordered it and got it from Cadillac.

1. After putting the cartridge into the slot provided in the console, you could hear it changing the CDs but would do nothing as far as sound.

2. Now we have the cartridge "stuck " into the slot and cannot get it to eject. How do we remove the player from the console, so we can recover the cartridge?

3. What do we check for in order to know why the CDs will not complete the change and play?

4. When putting te CD into the dash CD player, we get an error message. What should we look for and how do we reset? We did what the manual tolus to do in holding the button for 3 seconds, but that did not reset it to where it would work. Is this because we have the changer in?

Head Gasket

My 1998 sts sometimes stall when I try starting it after it's been sitting for an hour after being driven. I was told that it is caused by a leaking head gasket. The mechanic estimate for the job required 20 hours for both left and right side gaskets to be replaced and was close to five thousand dollars. Is the dollar amount for the job close to the truth? [:'(]
