86' BMW 325e Vibration from rear end.

Hi,

Does any one know if 87' 325ix have the same differentials and axles as a 86' 325e. Also, what could cause an axle to slide back and forth.

I recently took my car into the shop to get the fuel filter changed. Later that afternoon they informed me that I had to have a fuel regulator also. And charged me over $110.00 dollars for the filter and regulatory. I told them I wanted to parts they took off my car but when I got there to pick up my vehicle something didn't seems right. 1st. How much are these parts? 2nd. I haven't been able to find a fuel regulatory anywhere I have looked online regarding BMW's..

Please advise

2001BMW325I OVERHEATING

I have a 2001 bmw 325i it over heats while stopped with the a/c on only. New thermostat,radiator, bled all air. fan is working but stops sometimes. bmw wants $1000 to order a new fan. It might not be the fan. All ideas will be helpful.

Engine dies during idling

I installed a new water pump on my 1988 325I convertible. It does not pump the coolant. I tried a new thermostat and even removed the thermostat.Heater blows cold air. The radiator is cold even though the engine is hot. What is the trick?

328i problems

I own a 1997 328i. Last year the cat went on it, I got that fixed, and the next day the transmission went on it. I spent about $5,000 getting all that fixed. Is that normal for a car that currently has 130,000 miles on it? This year the car needs new rear shocks, and two power steering hoses. All this at a cost of about $1,000 including installation. No matter what goes wrong on these vehicles, you have to assume $1,000 each time the car goes in the shop. The digital reading on my radio has gone so I can't tell what station is on, and I am told that will cost about $1,000. A couple of years ago the 02 sensors went on the car, the car has 4 of them at a cost of $100.00 a piece, plus installation. This is my second BMW, I owned a 1991 318i that I also put alot of money into. Are others having the same experience? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1988 325 brake lights

I currently purchased a 1988 BMW 325 for my son, the brake light warning light stays on and the rear brake lights don't work. I checked the fuses and bulbs and all is good. Where do I start, I bought a Haynes manual and it doesn't seem to help. CAN SOMEONE HELP

2007 BMW 335 - been told that I abuse my car when they couldn't fix my car and declined my warranty!!!!

I have a 2007 335 coupe, sports package. 28000 miles for about a year now and I can only tell anyone who reads this is, all I have done is encountered problems. My bulbs were replaced atleast 3 times, there was a squeaking noise on my tires in the right front and rear. I took it to BMW dealer two times and they couldn't know what caused it and told me to contact BMW of North America. Finally I did and then i went back and they HAD to replace the TURBOS on my new BMW, almost a part of the engine. My car has been in shop almost 7 - 8 times in the year. Finally just recently there was a problem the dealer said with the Rear differential and I had enough with this car. I called BMW of north america and demanded something to be done as this was getting way to frustrating!!!

They sent a service engineer to BMW dealership and to my dismay the service director from the dealership called me and said based on the assesment that they wont fix my car for the rear differential under warranty and I have to pay out of pocket. I asked why and they said because they concluded I ABUSED my car. I said whats the reasoning and i was told my rear tires had worn out twice and had to be replaced and because of that the rear differential was bad and they are declining my warranty.

I called BMW of North America and told them that as I understood from the service dealer when they replaced my tires that they were low profile tires and its normal for them to wear at 15000 miles. I asked them can i get it in writing why my warranty is declined and they said NO. They said it is the final call..Eventually I threatened getting legal help and they said its up to me. Of course i got a call 30 minutes later that it will be covered under warranty by the service director.

I am still unhappy with how they treated me and what I have been through over the last year on my car. I have never raced or done anything like that with my car and it was kind of offensive that for the car that I love so dearly they told me I abused it and hence wanted to not cover anything. Instead of getting service, i was given the blame. I really wanted my car to be replaced but in the end they though I was the one responsible for it till i threatened with legal action. I want to do something about this. Please Advise!!

I have found my emergency flasher is not working and lighter for my phone. I looked at fuse case and he stated #47 (there no 47) for lighter. How do I know the fuse is OUT. Help the door lock button on panel is also not working...................

1989 BMW 325i Rotor Allen Screw

I am trying to remove a front rotor but the allen screw indention is rounded and the correct size allen wrench will not fit. Any suggestions on removing the screw. I have tried extractors and metal drill bits but am still having problems.

Car misses out at idle only! Have cleaned complete fuel system and replaced fuel filter. Also, flushed motor thinking it might be a sticking valve. Replaced cam position sensor (knew it was defective). Please help before i pull out the rest of my hair. Appreciate any advice.

I have a 1986 BMW 325. Weather was cold and drivers side door froze. While trying to open the door from the inside, the handle must have broke. How can I easily (manually) open the drivers door with a broken handle? Your response would be greatly appreciated.

I have a new 328i that came with Bridgestone run-flat tires. Is it ok to swap them out for non-run flat tires? My dealer told me that the suspension is tuned for the run flats and that changing them out would void the warranty. I travel to the cold north often and the rough streets do number on the ride quality. The car does not have a jack or spare tire, so I would have to keep a can of the instant flat repair and a mini compressor in the car.

Thanks for the advice.

I have a '95 BMW 318i and just replaced the battery. While driving whenever I stop and the car is idle all the lights(interior, exterior, and panel) tend to fade in and out in unison with the sound of the engine. Any ideas what it could be?

2003 BMW 325 Door Locks Don't always Work with keyless entry

I have a 2003 BMW 325i that will not allow me to unlock the doors from the key or the button on the inside of the car. This just started happening and makes it very difficult when others are trying to get into the car also. It doesn't happen all the time but continues to happer more frequently. The dealership says it is the satellite but this has not happened in the past. It happens a lot now...not only with one key, but both keys we have. Any ideas on this one?
