It seems that the iPod cable runs the audio through the modulator for the satellite radio.  (Even though I have the option, I do not currently subscribed to satellite radio) It was this modulator that was faulty.  That is why I could see the track playing but yet could not hear the audio.If anyone has this problem outside of warranty, it might be good to know that the technician said that the modulator is easy to pop out and replace -- 5 minutes at max -- so something that we could perhaps do ourselves.</description></item><item><title>ipod does not work with Audi Symphony stereo</title><link>http://www.autotropolis.com/cs/forums/thread/34162.aspx</link><pubDate>Tue, 02 Jun 2009 22:42:36 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">47d518e0-6f86-4bcb-9b63-62b215176eac:34162</guid><dc:creator>jimlindsey</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><comments>http://www.autotropolis.com/cs/forums/thread/34162.aspx</comments><wfw:commentRss>http://www.autotropolis.com/cs/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=49&amp;PostID=34162</wfw:commentRss><description>&lt;p style="font: normal normal normal 14px/normal Helvetica; margin: 0px"&gt;I recently bought a used 2008 TT Coupe which was originally sold new&amp;nbsp; in 2007.&amp;nbsp; It has the Audi Symphony stereo sound system which has a plug for an iPod in the glove box.&amp;nbsp; I have an older iPod with a hard drive and a newer iPod third generation nano -- whenever I plug in either of the iPods, the stereo recognizes the iPod and shows an additional six CDs (CD seven through 12) which is supposed to represent six playlists on the iPod.&amp;nbsp; (What a lame system this is for playing an iPod)&amp;nbsp; However when I choose to play one of these CDs, there is no sound.&amp;nbsp; The track appears to be playing but there is no sound.&amp;nbsp; I took this in to the technician at the small Audi dealership where I bought the car, and he was clueless.&amp;nbsp; Does the stereo system need a software update?&amp;nbsp; Anybody have any helpful ideas?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font: normal normal normal 14px/normal Helvetica; min-height: 17px; margin: 0px"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font: normal normal normal 14px/normal Helvetica; margin: 0px"&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 14px"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
