margin: 0px">I recently bought a used 2008 TT Coupe which was originally sold new in 2007. It has the Audi Symphony stereo sound system which has a plug for an iPod in the glove box. I have an older iPod with a hard drive and a newer iPod third generation nano -- whenever I plug in either of the iPods, the stereo recognizes the iPod and shows an additional six CDs (CD seven through 12) which is supposed to represent six playlists on the iPod. (What a lame system this is for playing an iPod) However when I choose to play one of these CDs, there is no sound. The track appears to be playing but there is no sound. I took this in to the technician at the small Audi dealership where I bought the car, and he was clueless. Does the stereo system need a software update? Anybody have any helpful ideas?
<p style="font: normal normal normal 14px/normal Helvetica; The car starts and runs fine, however I've noticed that on 2 occasions the tachometer bounces ,. While running at approx. 60 -65 mph and approx. 2500 - 3000 rpm ,the tach needle bounces as if on a spring, from say 3000 rpm to 1000 rpm. The engine never hesitates or coughs or anything of the sort , it runs fine. The bouncing tach is annoying and distracting though. One other thing , when it does this , I get to my destination and then have to let the car set for several hours before it will run again. The car will start with no hesitation, but as soon as i let go of the ignition key it dies..??? Can anyone advise???? The car would chatter when doing a slow U turn in forward or reverse. The dealer said the rear end was bad and needed replaced at a cost of approx. $3800. This car has 53,000 miles on it and is stored in a heated garage for the winter. It is not run hard or abused in any way. The total bill was on me until I complained to Audi that there is no way this part should be bad under the conditions of use after only this many miles. They offered $1000 of the bill. Some one mentioned that if the wrong oil is in this part that this problem can happen. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Could parking the car for the winter be causing any problem?
