I suspect that this is one of those cases. Who knows what else they have under designed?

Bottom line, I do not recommend anyone purchase leather seats with their new Acura. This MDX is the 4th Acura I have owned, however given my latest experience, I do not intend to ever purchase another Acura product.

Keeps on ticking: Our Acura MDX proves as reliable as ever

Found this review of the Acura MDX and want your opinions about it.

"Just as I had predicted from our previous trip to Indy, the MDX was a
fine choice for our annual trek south," reported one editor. "We logged
more than 2,000 miles, loaded down with luggage for four, a set of golf
clubs, softball gear, tennis rackets and beach gear, plus a box of food
and a cooler. It all fit, not quite as easily as when I took our
long-term Chevrolet Suburban south, but no one was sitting with a box
or a bag on their lap. In fact, as far as comfort goes, the MDX ranks
near the very top for vehicles that we've used on a trip we've been
doing for a decade."

The seats continue to get rave reviews from
all for their superb comfort and support, and the flexible
entertainment system gets exercised on nearly every longer trek. On a
recent family vacation, one editor noted: "The two in the back seat
watched videos for much of the ride home, while the front-seat
passengers took advantage of the numerous entertainment options
available through the XM satellite radio. Listening to the Detroit
Tigers game while passing through Tennessee and Kentucky was a
highlight, even though they lost."

But some have complained
about the high-end stereo system's lack of an iPod connection--almost a
given anymore in the near-luxury end of the segment.

Of course,
we still wouldn't mind a little more huff from the 300-hp, 3.7-liter
V6, but the tradeoff has been nice in that we've achieved almost 20 mpg
this quarter. And, with 20,000-plus miles on the clock, it's only just
now starting to show the faintest signs of wear, with a few rattles
popping up in the cabin.
Source: AutoWeek

I'm planning to buy a MSX in the future. The review makes it look worth it, but I want opinions from the drivers themselves. What do you think? Should I buy it?

______________________

dustrod - the Performance Radiator of coolness.

MY ACURA MDX MISFIRES

I HAVE 2001 ACURA MDX. It has had its required maintenance throughout. There is a noise (rumble /vibration) that sounds and feels like it’s emanating from the transmission and towards the right front. It occurs only when the transmission is in D5 gear position and vehicle is in motion under very light acceleration. Occurs at any speed between 35 and 65 mph and occurs more frequently during the warmer months. The noise will always cease if acceleration is decreased or increased. There does not seem to be any loss of power when it happens.
