Does the stock CD player just suck or do I have a really bad one haha? It has NO skip protection what so ever.. Normal?

Pulley and Ram Air

Is it safe to put a suggested 3.4" pulley on the blower and nothing else is done to it other than ram air? Any suggestions or reasons not to just put a 3.4" pulley on there as my only mod for now?? Also any other semi-easy and low cost mods that you would suggest to gain the most power and torque? Thanks...

When I turn on the heat / air conditioning the air flows out of all the vents no matter what setting I have it set on. If I have it on the windshield or the vents it still blows out of all of them. It blows the most on the floors. It doesn't do anything when I change it. Any idea what it would be?

I have a question about taking a normal 2003 GP GT 3800 series 11 (w/o supercharger) and adding a Super charger to it. I have access to a 3.8l with a super charger and only 42000 kms on it . The engine is on a 2001 GP GTP and I have a 2003 GT . Can I do the swap of intakes and pullies. etc;. Or is it easier to do a comple engine swap?????

Replaced battery now car starts as long as hold down the accelerator. Will not idle.Was running fine up until battery died. Also how can I test the alternator without removing it from the car?

I have a plastic heater hose piece that is broken on the passenger side of the 3800 V-6 motor, non turbo. Anti freeze leaks out. How do i replace it? It is molded hard plastic, about 3/4" outside diameter and black.

ABS light stays on

Called my local GM dealer where they did the last brake job on my 2002 SE. I told him that I put 16" rims on it.(It came w/15" stock) He said that not knowing what CODE is coming up,and that costs $104.00 to check, that the light may never go out. Putting on the 15" tires may not help either. Anyone know how to fix the ABS sensor? Or how to disconnect it? I'm trying to find a site with the diagram of the brake system too.

vibration

I had the right wheel bearing replaced. At acceleration past 30 the car begins to vibrate but only when I have the gas applied. It will vibrate and then smooth out somewhat when I reach cruising stage on the highway but the vibration is still there to an extent. The vibration does stop when gas is not applied.

1998 Grand Prix key stuck in ignition. there is a silinoid on the steering collum pushed it in got key out, locked steering wheel now how do i fix the problem of key not shutting off all the way and wont come out? how to get ignition out, and do i hafto replace the silinoid that releaseses the key?

Headlights go on and off

Whenever the car is in park the headlights and taillights go on and off by themselves. Drained the battery today and i had to get the car jumped. I have a remote start sytem that i had disconnected to try to solve this problem and that didn't work. Car has daytime running lamps and is a 2001 3.8. Dealer said the couldn't figure it out. Please help so I don't get stuck out in the cold again. Thanks

2000 grand Prix GT Secondary air pump

Hi All,

I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8L

My secondary air pump finally went after 8 years and 103,000 miles. When I brought my car to my mechanic he replaced the pump as well as did an conversion kit to re-routue the intake.

Well I have replaced this pump 4 times already...and each time it was replaced my mechanic told me he found the pump filled with water, now just for the record I don't go swimming with this car...nor do I drive thru all the puddles in the road.

I just got back from the 4 th pump bieng replaced and when I shut the car off the pump just kept running and wasn't able to turn it off unless I disconnected the battery.

So I just disconnected the pump.......HAS ANYONE ever had this problem with this pump before.......?????

Is it possible whatever tells this pump to go on is broken......To be be honest I don't know what this pump does...

Any help would be apreciated.....

Power drivers window doesn't work

2000 Grand Prix - power drivers window won't go down or up. All others work. There is a circuit breaker in the glove box fuse block for power windows but since the others work this can't be it. Is there a separate fuse or circuit breaker for the driver's window by itself? Any other ideas? Thanks.

turn signals

When using the turn signals they are just a solid light, no flashing. Ive replaced the signal switch in the column, and the flasher unit. Ive been told that there is one unit for the hazards and one for the turn signals. Ive tore the dash apart trying to find the other unit, but I dont think it exists. Whats next???

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE - Door STUCK!

I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE and the door was working just fine today. Went to one store, got out, got back in, no problem. Went to another store, got out just fine, no problem, "COULDN'T get back in". Driver door will NOT open from either the inside or outside.

Anyone have any idea why this would happen.

Doors are unlocked.
Handles sound like they are trying to release, but nothing happens.

Any ideas. I would greatly appreciate any help.

cooling fan always on

i got a question my grand prix 00 gt. when i turn on the car the cooling fans are always on.i know it has 3 relays but which one is bad.i know it has 2 relays one for fan 1 and the other for fan 2 . so i dint think both are bad. could it be the temperature switch.well the tempeture swicth should activate the fan so not sure about that. how to do check the relays any ideas ohms or what.thanks

My Grand Prix GT is showing signs of a faint oil slick on top the coolant in the coolant bottle. I need to add about a pint of Dex-cool about every two months. I have heard about a possible Intake manifold leaking problem. Is there a way to determine if this is the problem without taking it in and getting a major overhaul?
