Is it really necessary to replace the timing belt at 60k? I have around 65k on my car.

Thanks,

kia amanti glitches

Bought a new amanti in 05 and motor blew up at 35k. Liked the car and thought it was just an anomoly so after warranty work done traded it in for an 06 and now transmission is acting up with only 11k. Beginning to wonder about these cars. Also wonder if any other Amanti owners have had their sun roof mysteriously shatter. Was driving down the road and sunroof just shattered for no apparent reason. Dealer claimed it must have been hit by something so replaced via insurance claim. Only know one other guy with same car and lo and behold same thing happened to him. When I first drove the car I noticed how noisy it was with wind noise but thought nothing of it until new sunroof glass installed and then noticed it was way quieter. I think the original glass was installed in frame under too much torsion and glass eventually blew. Friends experience lends credence to my theory.
