2001 Elantra

I have a 2001 hyundai elantra which has been having some problems. Kind of like it's not getting enough gas while I'm driving. Anyway I took it to an auto store and the ran a scan. I came back with a DTC code P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected can anyone tell me what that means and how can I fix it.

Resonator noise

I have an 06 Elantra GT, there is a sound coming from the resonator when accelerating and decelerating. Can you tell me if it's major or can I let it go and what it is?

I just retrieved my sons 2003 Hundai Elantra and drove from Texas to New Mexico, The radio doesn't go on and since my son is in Iraq, I don't talk with him much, he said the fuse is blown. Well, I can not find the fuse box in the car to replace the fuse, and every time I ask a place on line they want money, and I don't have any. Plus the people @ Autozone didn't know either. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE FUSE BOX IS?? Thank You so much!!! Christine. ( I looked every where, under the dash on the side under the hood!)

Windshield Wiper Malfunction

I have a 2002 Elantra with 110,000 miles. The wiper blades have been slowing down dramatically over the last several weeks and now they won't turn on. My gut says the motor needs replacement but I was wondering if their would be something less expensive or easier to try before replacing the motor. I'm no expert and only a novice mechanic so any tips on where to start other than a fuse and a motor replacement would be greatly appreciated.

hi any suggestions would be appreciated...when i come to a stop the car seems like the idleing is way off..its like bucking or something. when i stip on the gas it seems like it is not gettin enough gas...its bucking and struggling to get going. about a week ago i think the gas line frooze since it got really cold and there was only about 1/8 of a tank of gas. i finally got it to start but ever since then the car is running funny.

Cam Positioning Sensor

Need Help!! My husband is working on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS for his sister in law. While replacing the timing belt last weekend, the cam turned. He got it repositioned properly and it runs however, it then threw a code stating that the cam positioning sensor was bad. While driving the vehicle on the freeway, it exhibits little power. You have to floor the vehicle to get it to accelerate beyond 40 mph and then it lurches from 2000rpm to 5000rpm then drops just as rapidly. You must maintain the pedal to the floor to keep the car moving.We have purchased & replaced and now the new code states that the cam positioning circuit is bad. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Damaged stereo

I have 05' Elantra and recently i replaced the stock stereo with sony stereo. A few days ago, my battery died and the person who helped me jump start my car cross-wired the jump cable. My stereo doesn't work after that. Is there any way to fix my stereo by replacing the fuse or something? Please help!! Thanks

car sqeaks

after driving a bit,my car emits a sqeaking noise from the tires. the sqeak goes away when i hit my brakes.what would be the probable cause?

I am not a mechanic, but I am good at taking things apart and putting them back together again(usually with minimal "extra" pieces). I got a check engine light and the code is showing that there is a idle air control problem. I have found a few places with a new IAC valve for this car, but my question is, how difficult is this gonna be to replace(I like knowing before it's too late to drive it into the repair shop)? Is this a challenge that a weekend wanna-be mechanic, such as myself, can overcome in a day? Will I need some kind of acme-deluxe secret squirrel type tools or any other apparatus that only a true mechanic would be privy to? Or should I just suck it up and take it to the shop? MY 2003 HYUNDAI ELANTRA STARTED TO OVERHEAT WHILE COMING BACK FORM SCHOOL. THERE WAS ANTIFREEZE COMING OUT OF THE OVERFLOW. NOTHING WAS LEAKING FROM RADIATOR. IT DOES NOT SHOW THAT IS IS OVERHEATING WHILE IT IS IDILING JUST WHILE DRIVING. ALL FLUIDS WERE OK. WHAT COULD IT BE.

was assisting a friend when they got stuck in a creek. Let them drive my car to near where stuck. they took wrong route end ended up driving offroad in the desert over cobblestone type rocks that didn't look damaging, but sounded like they were huge rocks banging the underneath of my car. Drove way too long over this terain, next day my cruise control wouldn't work. No big deal. driving home (95miles from desert) almost halfway home, driving 75mph car starts losing power, then dies. thinking it overheated I waited for it to cool down and turn the key, never heard anything like it. The sound was like something was turning, more whining. Had to tow it rerst of the way home. Thought it was the timing belt. Pulled off cover, belt fine, wrenced the crank, turns fine. When pulling cover off found the plug wires had melted to the plugs. Replaced plugs and wires and still get same thing. It did change something when turning the key, but it is still an unusual sound, like whining spinning, hard to explain. Someone suggested head gasket, but there are no signs of oil in coolant nor coolant in oil. Could I have damaged something in the rockie desert? Could it be a head gasket? I am completely lost as to where to go from here. cant get a diagnostic because the check engine light has to be on for it to read, plus it is stuck in my front yard. Any suggestion I would greatly appreciate. I have been without my car for going on two months. Thank you for your time.

i replaced , wires, plugs ,gas cap , flex pipe going to converter and sensor. disconnected cables light was off for about 3 miles came back on? any suggestions? thank you.

My sons girl friend says that the headlights will not turn on. I found one bad bulb. I replaced both. (H7-55) They still don't work. Also checked the fuse(s). High beams don't work either. Any suggestions. Thanks

thermostat

It was cold last night, I warmed up the car for about 10 minutes, it didn't take away the frost then when i stsrted to drive the lights would get brighter when I pressed on the gas pedal. I noticed that the thermostst gage was going up toward the red line. What's the cause and what do I do to fix it? How much is the cost and How long will a repair take?

problem with replacing front oil-seal. Once seal is in place, test run of engine dislodges seal again. Seal will not remain seated. Crankshaft is true, No compression problems. Replaced crankshaft ventilation valve. thinking of replacing oil pump assembly located behind seal. any known problems related to this issue?

while driving with air on, wife hears pssssh and water was leaking from under glove box. found blower unit under glove box but no drain line for condensate, any answers?
