I am getting horrible gas mileage. I am only driving about 100 miles on a full tank of gas. This car has had a full tune up, new tires, new exhaust. What can I do to get better gas mileage. This thing is eating my lunch, literally.

My 94' Crown Victoria police intercepter wont start. I Stopped at a gas staion after a short drive and it started fine i went to a gas staion down the street may be 3 miles away and it would not start. it does not make a single noise no lights insde or out no radio my spotlight does not even work. the battery is only 3months old the cables are connected someone help please!!!

I have refrigerant and the car a/c won't cool. The clutch is not stuck, we jumped the relay and the clutch engaged and the air worked. What can be the problem? Help if you can.

exhaust headers

I want to get headers for my car i have a 02 crown vic i dont want shortie headers because i heard they suck so if i get like the longer ones i dont know if i would have to do somthing to make them fit between the frame and the motor i have a 4.6l in it so like i dont know what to do i dont want to get them and it not fit. so i dont know if anyone has got some on thier vic or not

I HAVE A 2000 FORD CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTOR CAR THE WATER LEVEL LIGHT COME ON AND THE CAR SHUTS DOWN EVEN IF THE CAR IS COLD COULD IT BE THE HEAD SENSOR IS BAD, AND WILL IT MAKE THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND MISS. i HAVE PUT NEW PLUGS INTO THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING.

NO ONE CAN FIGURE IT OUT, POSSIBLE COULD IT BE THE COIL PACKS.

Temporary high idle w/noise

Hello, I'm having trouble with a high idle problem I hope someone can help. I have a 2000 ford crown victoria police interceptor with 156k miles. After the car has been driven for 5-25 miles, and is turned off for about 15 minutes, when restarting, the engine idles very high with a squeal. This usually lasts for about one minute or so and then it idles back to normal and the squeal is gone. I've also noticed my headlights flicker during this episode. The check engine light is "not" on. It just starting doing this in the last week or so. The temp here in the midwest has been very cold, highs +10f lows -5f. There is also a high pitched whine coming from the engine compartment upon initial cold startup, and sometimes for a few miles driving. It's not the belt,tensioner or idler pulley, they have all been replaced recently. Nothing too major at this point, but, I'd like to repair it before it causes me more problems later. I do have the ford service tech manuals and a haynes manual. They state it might be a vacuum leak or fuel injection or engine control sys malfunction, kinda vague. If you have any idea please let me know. Thank You.

Can somebody please tell me why my 1993 Crown Vic makes a popping noise at random times, at low speeds, and most of the time when there is a passenger. Mechanics have done visual inspection, but can't figure it out. If somebody has had this happen, or knows what it is and how to fix it, please help. Thank you. 2003 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor headlights go out while driving

Please help! We have a 2003 Crown Victoria that is experiencing a malfunction and we cannot figure it out. While driving, the headlights will suddenly go out on their own and stay off for a few minutes. If the driver pulls the turn signal handle and holds the "flash to pass", the high beams are illuminated. Pushing the turn signal handle to turn on high beams does nothing. A few minutes go by, there is a "click" sound under the dash and the lights come back on and stay on sometimes for 15 minutes, sometimes not that long. Our mechanic states that the turn signal switch has been changed, the relay box under the dash with the circut breaker has been changed and a this point is stumped. Can anyone help?

WE just purchased a 2001 Crown Victoria without an owners manuel. Hoping I could get some info.

How to set the clock. Also, I can't get AM on the radio just FM stations which come in fine.

In addition, I do not have the 5-digit entry code for the keyless entry system. In my other

Crown Vics the code was pasted somewhere in the trunk. I can not find it in this car. I need to

know how to get the original factory code, or, how to reset it and enter my own code.

Car stalled and won't start

My 1996 Crown Vic has been sitting for 3 years and about once a month has been started up for a few minutes, i took it to the car wash and on the way back it stalled and won't restart, the battery is fully charged and has gas in the tank, is their anyway i can test the fuel system to see if that is the problem? or something else? thanks, Don

I have a 2001 P71 Police Interceptor. Some of the speedometer bulbs are burned out. How do I get in there to replace them? It seems it would be impossible to reach up from behind to access them. Is there a way that the panel or cluster comes out to do this?

IF YOU HAVE A RADIATOR ELECTRIC FAN AND IT FAILS THE FAN MOTOR MAY HAVE BURNED BECAUSE IT IS BEING COMANDED BY THE ECM / COMPUTER TO STAY ON HIGH SPEED. WHY WOULD THE ECM ASK THE FAN TO STAY ON HIGH SPEED EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE IS NOT OVERHEATING AND THE AC IS OF? THERE'S A THING CALLED TFT (TRANSMISSION TEMP SENSOR) AND AT 210 DEGREES THE ECM TRIGGER THE RADIATOR FAN MODULE TO TURN THE FAN ON HIGH SPEED TO TRY AND COOL THE TRANS/COOLER WHICH ON THE 06 GRAND MARQ./ C/V IS BUILT INTO THE LOWER SECTION OF THE A/C CONDENCER. THE ECM STRATEGY CALLS FOR A TEMP. DROP FROM 210 TO 190 BEFORE THE FAN TURNS OFF. BUT WHAT CAN PREVENT THIS COOLING IF THE FAN IS ON YOU ASK , AS I DID. THE ANSWER IS THAT FORD IN IT WISDOM DECIDED TO PLACE A NON SERVICEABLE THERMOSTAT IN THE COOLER ASSEMBLY WHICH IS ONCE AGAIN ALSO KNOWN AS THE A/C CONDENCER. IT SEEMS THAT THE FLUID WAS BYPASSING THE COOLER FINS AND SENT BACK TO THE TRANS NO COOLER THAN IT LEFT THUS THE ECM KEPT CALLING FOR A CONSTANT FAN ON CONDITION WHICH IN TIME CAUSED THE RADIATOR FAN TO BURN OUT. AFTER EVACUATING THE A/C SYSTEM AND REPLACING THE A/C CONDENCER/TRANNY COOLER ASSEMBLY ALL SYSTEMS FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. I WONDER WHAT TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS ARE IN FOR BECAUSE THE COOLER ASSEMBLY CAN'T BE FLUSHED OR SERVICE IN ANY WAY. I GUESS THERE GOING TO HAVE TO GO INTO THE A/C BIZZ. I HOPE THIS HELPS OUT SOMEONE OUT THERE BECAUSE I CERTENTLY HAD MY FUSTRATIONS WITH IT...........

Problem with power when it is cold, after an extended warm-up it will accelerate ok to about 2/3 throtle. Full throtle and it is slugish. I have replaced the EGR valve and two vacuum controllers. No engine codes are present. Any other ideas? Respond at john_lawson@hotmail.com

My 1995 ford crown vic has less than 26000 miles on it. The abs and traction control quit working. The red brake light works as it should and the yellow abs light also works as it should, coming on when the key is turned on and then going off after a few seconds. So it's telling me the system is ok when in fact it is not. I checked the 50A fuse in the power dist. box under the hood and it's ok. I am handicapped so I can't do much myself. Any ideas?

I just bought an 04 Crown Vic LX about a week ago and I'm wondering if I bought the front-bumper cover for a Marauder, if it would line up and bolt right on? 1996 Crown Vic Suspension

I am planning on rebuilding the front suspension on my car (240,000 +miles on it) and am wondering if the upper and lower a-frame bushings have to be pressed in.

I will be replacing the ball joints and tie rods, is there anything else that I should go ahead and replace while I have it torn down? All advice considered and appreciated.

Help someone please,

I have a 1995 Ford T-Bird that I have something broke in side my steering column that is causing my ignition key not to come out, after I put it in park. I know that is more than just my ignition switch because I just had it replaced and it still is not coming out. What could be the cause of this. And where can I go to get this fix that not will not cost me a lot of money. I live in Aiken, SC

my father has a 98 crown vic with a cracked stat housing and i have a 2001 crown vic which has a metal stat housing i would like to convert his to metal as well but i would like to know what year they started with the metal stat housing and which vehicles have the seporate intake and stat housing since his is all one piece thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
