Hi!! Please help...this is a pain-staking process and has had my vocals roaring all week. My manual doesn't explain diddly squat about all that is involved and everything that needs removing in order to get to the water pump. And, although I am removing the timing belt cover and that idler pulley - My Dad Insists that I am not doing anything to mess with the TIMING..unless I specifically turn that harmonic balancer pulley nut or the other cam pulley. : \
Well..I am all the way down to, not being able to remove the lower section of the timing belt cover.. where it is snugged around that harmonic balancer..pulley's. Just got that little belt off..finally. And, can't seem to feel or see how this sucker is going to come off..without removing those pulleys
So..I opened my timing belt cover GASKET box..to see all the holes that go around that gasket.. and, Hmmm? it appears to be the water pump gasket..
along with some little rubber wire like gasket and 2 ..round components that look like bearings..without the bearings in them.. SEALS? i take it. So, then nowhere is a gasket that I thought would be like the one that is around the valve cover.. and that fits down into the groove. So, does this lower timing belt cover..NOT have to be taken off.. but, simply wrestled back.. and outta the way... best u can, while you wrestle to reach the lower water pump bolts that are hard to get to?? Once again... the manual don't provide .. nothing of any help.. and, the reference to Chapter 2.. is absurd. I'm pretty pissed off.. cuz it's been 6 mo's and, I have held off doing this stupid project...cuz, I simply was reluctant and hesitant to mess with anything involving the timing.. and, having to make your marks.. etc. THEN.. My Dad HAS..absolutely insisted that I'm not going to be ddoing anything that will get it out of timing.. and, Yet.. I'm starting to wonder. PLEASE HELP ASAP .. Thank You! Kindly!!!
