Hmm [^o)] 2000 Sebring JXI Security System has mind of it's own ( Works when it want to)

About 6mo ago my remote stopped working properly it would only work sometimes, so I replaced the battery.  After replacing the battery it has not worked since. And now all of a sudden when I attempted to enter my car an alarm goes off and will not turn off with the remote or when key is used in the drivers door or the ignition, car would start alarm and light would still flash.  Now I have figure out how to turn it off when it decides to come on, sometimes all I have to do is just stick my key in the passenger door lock without turning it or anything and the alark will turn off and sometimes I have to turn it to stop the alarm.  It will not turn the alarm off from the drivers door, and now  also when I unlock the drivers door w/key it will not unlock passengers door.  Also when I unlock doors from the passenger side the interior lights come on and when I unlock from the drivers side they do not turn on, nor can I turn them on from the light controller on the steering wheel.  This is so embarrassing because when it goes off I have to hurry over to the passenger side and turn it off. I reset my remote and it still does respond although I went through the programing reset, Can anyone tell me what causes this.  OH also I had just programed an extra key that works fine.
