    Starter Motor Chrysler Town Country

Where is the starter motor on the T&C van located?

Where is the transmission bell housing?  This is where the starter should be mounted.

Regardless of which engine you have, the starter is always in the same general area. It is on the front side of the engine where the engine and transmission bolt up together (this part of the trans. is traditionally known as the bellhousing). Before doing any starter repairs, make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Thanks.  I found it after all on Sunday after I post.  Everything went well.  Took about 1 hour to do.

    Thanks again.

    Hi,

Just curious how you removed the starter motor for Town and Country.  By the way, what year is it?  For my 2001, which is somehow different from 1996 and so, I see the bolts that hold the  starter motor, but not sure how to get to it with my wrench or socket tool.  It does not look like there is any room for any swing to remove the bolts.  I wonder if I need to remove any additional brackets etc.  Please, advise.

    Thanks,

    Joe
