528 e coolant sensor

    I replaced the sensor in the resevoir tank..but the light continues to stay on....what are my options...

    Well first of all I wish you would have given more info on the vehicle itself.Year make model size of engine.Well the coolant temperature sensor is located somewhare in youre ingine.Normally near the thermostat housing.Please give more info to help you out better.What light is on? What does it indicate?You might just need to add more coolant to your cooling system.

    88 528e...sensor is on the top of the resevoir..the coolant level light comes on and stays on..the fluid level is fine..so not sure what it may be a short?..

    Check the connections on the sensor and connector,If it is green clean it beacouse it might be just a poor connection.If you get a test light,one of the sodes on the connector should have power to it.
