You should replace your torque converter seal now that you've removed the converter from it. They should be cheep enough. Pry the old one out careful not to damage the hole, then pop the new one in with a large socket or something you can hit so that it applies even pressure over the entire seal. Next, lube it VERY WELL with trans fluid, then reinstall the torque converter too it. There should be a dust cover that bolts to the engine that will allow you to reinstall the torque converter to the flywheel with relative ease. Using a soft hammer or a regular hammer with a rag folded and attached to the end so you don't damage your converter, turn and smack the converter till it seats properly. It should sit recessed into the bell housing less then an inch.
