    engine won't shut off

I have a 1986 b-2000 that will not shut off. I have put a new switch in the truck, but it still stays running. Is there a relay or breaker somewhere that is causing this problem.

Is it an auto or a manual?  Pull the positive connection off your battery and wait for it to die.  Once it does, reconnect the wire.  BE SURE THE TRUCK IS IN NEUTRAL AND THE PARKING BREAK IS SET!  If the truck turns over without you trying to start it, then it's most likely a bad solenoid.  There should be one wire running down to the starter only.  Take that wire off, and hook everything else back up.  When you want to start it again, make sure it's in neutral and the parking break is on, then touch the starter wire to the terminal you took it off of.   That will work until you get a chance to replace your solenoid.

It's not broke... It's just.... Ok it's broke but I can fix it! Where's my duck tape?
