1990 Mazda B2200 Need advise on engine performance

I have a B2200 pickup that is running poorly. The engine runs rough at idle but runs well at higher rpms. The engine does stumble a bit while at speed. I have done spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor button, gas filter, air filter, pcv valve, replaced O2 sensor. When at idle I get a strong gas smell as if the gas is not being burnt properly. Has anybody had a similar experience and can you provide possible insight to the problem and how to fix. Thank you

Sounds like you have a problem with a vacume leak.  Check all your vacume lines and any sensors or mechanical parts they connect too for damage/leakage.

It's not broke... It's just.... Ok it's broke but I can fix it! Where's my duck tape?

I Have experienced the same problem. All i did was adjust the idle speed by half a turn. You just need to turn the screw by the carburetor 1/4 turn at a time until the problem goes away. Be sure not to make it to high though or else you will also experience problems.

    Hope this helps,

    Mike
