1996 Ranger with strange rear noise NEED HELP!!!!!

My Ranger has a very strange steady humming coming from the rear.To me it sounds like the sound it should be making if the rear diffrential was out of fluid. However upon checking the fluid level,it was fine.Upon further checks,I found the rear brakes to be destroyed due to a bad wheel cylinder.I have replaced the brakes and wheel cyl's,but the noise is still there.I checked the tightness of the U-joints and have found them to be nice and tight.I have even thought it could be from the tires, but why would all-season tires humm unless they are wearing unevenly,in which they are not. This continuing mystery has me baffled as where to turn next.ANY IDEAS???????

You might want to check the wheel bearing on that side.  Because the brakes were as you say destroyed as you say they could have produced sever heat taking out the bearing on that side.  Not saying positive, however possible........
