Keeps on ticking: Our Acura MDX proves as reliable as ever

Found this review of the Acura MDX and want your opinions about it.

"Just as I had predicted from our previous trip to Indy, the MDX was a fine choice for our annual trek south," reported one editor. "We logged more than 2,000 miles, loaded down with luggage for four, a set of golf clubs, softball gear, tennis rackets and beach gear, plus a box of food and a cooler. It all fit, not quite as easily as when I took our long-term Chevrolet Suburban south, but no one was sitting with a box or a bag on their lap. In fact, as far as comfort goes, the MDX ranks near the very top for vehicles that we've used on a trip we've been doing for a decade."

The seats continue to get rave reviews from all for their superb comfort and support, and the flexible entertainment system gets exercised on nearly every longer trek. On a recent family vacation, one editor noted: "The two in the back seat watched videos for much of the ride home, while the front-seat passengers took advantage of the numerous entertainment options available through the XM satellite radio. Listening to the Detroit Tigers game while passing through Tennessee and Kentucky was a highlight, even though they lost."

But some have complained about the high-end stereo system's lack of an iPod connection--almost a given anymore in the near-luxury end of the segment.

Of course, we still wouldn't mind a little more huff from the 300-hp, 3.7-liter V6, but the tradeoff has been nice in that we've achieved almost 20 mpg this quarter. And, with 20,000-plus miles on the clock, it's only just now starting to show the faintest signs of wear, with a few rattles popping up in the cabin.

I'm planning to buy a MSX in the future. The review makes it look worth it, but I want opinions from the drivers themselves. What do you think? Should I buy it?
