2000 ford ranger 3.0, no brake lights

I have no brake lights. I have replaced the brake light switch but it didnt fix the problem. I have 12 volts at the switch and the switch is working. I still have no power to only the brake lights. all other lights work fine. Is there anything between the switch and the lights I should know about?  Breaker, relay ect?

Looking at the wiring diagram of the light system. It appears that the power for the break lights runs thru the turn signal switch before heading to the rear.  It seems that way back in my memory banks I remember hooking up a trailer to an older Ford that had a short in the wiring, and it took out the turn signal switch at the time..........   Hope this helps.....

check to see if the ignition key must be turned to the" on " position first, then check the fuse.
there are a least 2 wires to the stop light switch. remove the connector from the switch and use a jumper wire to connct them together. if the stop light work with  the wire connected together, the switch is faulty.
the switch is normally open and power is often supplied to  the switch through the turn signal switch,
some stoplight switch have extra contacts for cruise control, the torque convertor clutch or antilock brake control, you may deffinitly need a wirring diagram.
