How to make the check engine light go away??  I had it checked and found that it was a vacuum leak which has since been fixed.  The gas cap is tight, and no one can help get rid of the light.  It just keeps coming back.  Any words of wisdom?

 

disconnect the ground cable on the battery.  wait afew seconds and reconnect. youll have to reprogram your radio and may some other things. the light should stay out. if not then you have other problems.

with out startint the car try turning the key on and off about 8- 10 times

If the light still doesn't go off, it's better to have it checked by a mechanic. There must still be something that is wrong and you might have missed it.
