Hi I have a 2001 F150 Super Crew 4x4 5.4L. Last saturday i started hearing a strange whistle sound coming from the front of my truck, the sound would only time it would make the sound is when i would go up a hill or release the gas. I'm  just wondering if any one knows what it could be.

Try washing the front brake rooters. They can get drity and might strange noises. High pressure washer works the best.

thanks for the information. i took the truck in and found out that i had two blown head gaskets one on either side. my throttle body was sticking and my ball joints were toast. i had them all replaced and the truck runs perfect  thanks for the info.

Just wanted to know how many miles do you have on the truck? Did you ever get the truck engine to hot? I can't beleave that the head gaskets were leaking on a 2001. I have a 1996 4.6L and I beat the heck out of it, and never had any problems until I pluged the cat converters, just afer that the trans started to slip. I've got 180.000 miles before this happened. Replaced both cats and trans and it runs like it is new. I'm glade that you got it fixed!
