    1993 Chevrolet Corsica Starting Problem

Recently, my 1993 Chevrolet Corsica shut down while at the light. After several tries, I managed to get it started long enough to get to a parking lot. The motor will turn over, but will not start. I did rule out the fuel pump as a potential problem by checking the flow of gas to the fuel injector.

Can anyone give me some sound advice on where to start with this problem. I also was told that it could be a sensor or fuse problem. If so, where are these gadgets located? Please help!!!

    Thanks,

    James

Re: 1993 Chevrolet Corsica Starting Problem

Will it start when the engine cools down? If so then it could be the ignition control module heating up and cutting out. They create their own heat as they operate and become very heat sensitive when they are going bad and overheat the circuits. When they cool down they work again. Stopping any where eliminates cool air blowing under the hood and they heat up faster.

Also could be the CPS ( crankshaft position sensor ) or MAF ( mass air flow sensor ). These heat up exactly like the ICM and as it cools, becomes operative again.

After a short while of this all can fail completely. Did you get any check engine light? Have you read the codes?
