    91 corsica

91 corsica which only 4 of 6 cylinders fired. Changed out 2 of 3 ignition coils, now runs fine. Car dies when you put it in drive and give it gas, like the trans is locked up. Can get it running by giving it gas, more than what is needed, while in park and shift it into drive. After doing this 2 or 3 times the car runs fine with no problems. Is there a senor I'm missing to check?

Sounds like the TCC ( torque converter clutch solenoid ) is sticking. There should be a wiring harness plug located on the front of the transmission, usually blue in color. Unplug it and see if you have the same problem. If it goes away then the TCC solenoid is bad. You can drive without it plugged in but you will not have any overdrive to the tranny and fuel mileage will suffer a little bit. If you drive city, it won't make alot of difference.
