    Crankshaft Position Sensor?

Where is the Crankshaft position sensor located on a 2001 kia rio? I need to replace it and this is my first time working on one of these cars. Does anyone know where I can download a DIY or does anyone have one I can use? Let me know. Thanks.

ok, there is not much to this to replace yourself. the crankshaft sensor is located on the transmission right under the coil pack area, there is a 10mm bolt holding this in and there is only 1 connector to it. that's it not much to it, the only thing is clearing the code and you can go to any garage and get this cleared or there are inexpensive OBDII code readers that also erase for around $60.. if you have any questions please e-mail me direct at almek99@comcast.net

If you are talking about the sensor thats on the drivers side of the engine right below the coil pack then thats the Cam Sensor. I was told the Crank sensor is located by the crank pully.

no not the cam phase sensor on the cylinder head, that is held on by two 12mm bolts on the end of the cam, the crank sensor reads off the flywheel and it is bolted on the transmission bell housing ( the area that bolts onto the back of the engine) look down further. there is no crank sensor on the front of the engine on this car.
