Re: 1999 CADILLAC SEVILLE STS SEAT WARMERS STOPPED WORKING

Early seat heating elements covered the entire seat including the side leg and lumbar cushions. The side and lumbar cushions were subject to excess flexing upon entering and exiting the vehicle ( all earlier GM's have this problem ). This excess flexing breaks the wires in the heating elements. The new design heats only the center portion of the seats and is still subject to damage form knees and childrens feet putting too much pressure in one spot on the seat. New heating elements are $ 125 to $ 175 and can easily be installed by a layman by removing the seats. Dealers charge $ 90 to $ 100 per hour for labor. Approximately 1 to 1.5 hour job.
