After I screw the Gas Cap on my 1998 Trooper down, if I continue to turn it it ratchets so I keep turning it until it get harder to ratchet but it never really reaches an extreme. Is this a problem or is the cap just slipping. I have had problems with my check engine light coming on at times I think this might be causing it? Should I purchase a new Gas Cap?
