    1988 jaguar xj6

I would really appreciate it if someone could tell what kind of oil to use in the hydralic leveling system in the rear of the car. I would also appreciate it if someone could clue me into how to add the fluid because the hydralic system is pressurized and I don't know how to relieve the pressure.

The hydraulic leveling system uses Jaguar Hydraulic System Mineral Oil (HSMO) or Castrol Hydraulic System Mineral Oil--you can get it at Jag dealers or probably from internet Jag parts suppliers.  The fill point is the reservoir on the passenger side of the engine--same system also powers the power steering. By the way the leveling system is a pain in the a__ in my opinion--lots of bouncing--I finally removed mine in my 92 Vanden Plas--it was a bitch of a job--bought a kit with new rear springs and shocks  necessary to make up for the removed leveling shocks--needed to buy a set of spring compressors, etc.
