When Ford (parent company of Mercury Motors) began their Ford Forward restructuring plan, they considered ending the Mercury line of vehicles. They decided to keep going forward, and last months’ sales were dismal. The average dealership only sold 9 vehicles last month. The company is still venerable, and they need sales to match the increased advertising budget and complete redesign of the lineups’ interior design.
