Good Deals on Fords Thru 2008

DETROIT - Ford to focus on: Quality, fuel efficiency and reliability. Alan Mulally, the new CEO of Ford Motor, co. has a plan. That plan is to focus much of the new Ford car development on increasing quality, fuel efficiency and reliability.

Much of this transition will require a heavy cost. However, the car price blog does not think the consumer will take a hit. In recent statements, Ford has stated that they do not intent to return to profitability until 2009 and they are planning on using their cash to fund the cost of restructuring.

Here is my price timeline for Ford:

2008 models will not be heavily influenced by the new CEO. But Ford is betting the 2009 cars will hit the fine points of reliability, fuel efficiency and cars. They are going by the mantra, if you build a quality car, word will get out and sales will naturally follow.

In order to fund this huge transition, they are going to need robust sales of the cars currently on the lot. Therefore, expect good deals on 2006, 2007 and 2008 models. We are already seeing huge incentives (e.g. 0% financing on Expeditions). I continue to see good deals with Ford until the 2008 models.
