Dodge Cuts Durango Prices an Average of $1800.

Dodge DurangoAutoWeek is reporting that the average sticker price for a Dodge Durango fell an average of $1800.  Industry experts cite the fact that sales of the Durango decreased by 40% during the first eight months of 2006.

The reason for the slow sales?

First, the entire SUV sector is being hit hard by higher gas prices. Higher gas prices have contributed to declining sales across the board, affecting all SUV models. In late September we witnessed a huge decline in gas prices—however, this has not resulted in increased SUV sales—the public is still wary that gas prices may rise again. In addition, it is possible that the appeal of hybrid cars generated from the summer’s high gas prices is sticking.

Second, there is little appeal of the Dodge Durango’s appearance.

Regardless of the reason for sluggish sales, now is the best time to purchase a Dodge Durango to get the best price.
