 Since Chrysler bought Jeep in 1987, Jeep has maintained a three-vehicle lineup. By the end of the 2006 model year, the Jeep stable had grown to six vehicles including two car-based vehicles and a first ever four-door Wrangler. While the “Trail Rated” Jeeps still have sufficient off-road skills, they are becoming more competitive in the mainstream market with better ride quality, more comfortable, user-friendly interiors and more powerful, fuel-efficient engines. Despite the Compass’ slow sales start, the new Wranglers continue to be in high demand and the classic Cherokee styled Patriot should follow its success.
