New HUMMER Cars
The original HUMMER, also known as the HMMWV or Hum-Vee, was produced by AM General in the 1980s for military purposes only. In 1991, they began producing civilian versions and quickly became the ultimate off-road vehicle. When General Motors purchased the HUMMER brand from AM General in 1999 they renamed the original truck the H1 and quickly began to expand the brand lineup to include the H2 and H3. While the iconic H1 has quietly exited stage left, the H2 soldiers on as HUMMER’s flagship. The Colorado-based H3 ventures into new territory with the addition of the V8-powered Alpha model. Similar to all other GM vehicles, all HUMMER models come with the five-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty as a standard feature.
